Acoustic Removed, Joints Coated, Ready For Texture

Acoustic ceiling, Popcorn ceiling, Cottage Cheese ceiling removal is one of our most popular. Not only does it dramatically improve the appearance of your home but also makes an excellent selling point. There are several different texture finishes to choose from.  If your home was built prior to 1978 then you might have asbestos in the acoustic and should have it checked.

If your home was built prior to 1970 there is a good chance that you have plaster walls and ceilings instead of drywall.  In this case the acoustic ceiling is either non removable or extremely difficult.  We provide the skim coat process but highly recommend encapsulation/lamination process.  Encapsulation is a procedure recognized by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) as an acceptable form of asbestos treatment.

There are several different types of texture. The least expensive and most popular is orange peel. Others are knockdown, skip trowel, plaster finishes, old world or smooth. After 24-48 hours of dry time, all texture coating will need to be primed and painted.  We provide this service as well.

We ask our clients to please remove the following:

·        Valuable items and all other items from the tops of tables/upper shelves/desks/counters/closet top shelf/coffee tables etc. (computers, T.V. and stereo equipment OK)

·        Any small items of furniture and fragile glass table tops.

·        Any picture/drapery/blinds that are hung from or less than 12 inches from ceiling.

·        Any clothing or other articles on top shelves of closets that may interfere.

·        All other items please leave against the walls no more than 2 feet out.

·        A.C.I. will assess other items and normally will move some larger items of furniture to garage, covered patio or other neutral area.
